At 3wks my daughter had labial adhesion we have always used the estrogen cream she is 3 now and i'm wondering why we're still having this problem ?

Labial adhesions ...: Can sometimes be gently massaged apart in the office, but sometimes we have to do it under anesthesia. Once the adhesions are lysed, we have the parents massage estrogen cream into the raw interlabial area a couple of times a day. That usually helps the skin and mucosa there toughen up so that the labia will not re-adhere. If the adhesions were never lysed to begin with, that may need to be done.

Can recur: Labial adhesions are felt to be caused by mild irritation of the labia, either from diaper rashes, infections, poor hygiene (3-4 year-old girls are notoriously poor at wiping), or just excessive rubbing. As the irritation heals, edges of the labia stick together and become fused. Estrogen cream is usual stherapy.Recurrence can occur, so vasoline can be used once separated to keep labia apart.
