If the dentist punctured my nerve the other day while doing a filling and it still hurts, can that nerve heal?

Need more info: Was it the nerve in the tooth or the nerve from the injection site? If the pulp was exposed, then a root canal is in order. If it was the injection site, then it will heal.

Root canal: Generally fine nerve inside the tooth was exposed, punctured you are looking at a root canal. Since you still have pain call your dentist and have an evaluation.
