Is valerian safe to take with zoloft (sertraline)? anxiety is very bad at night and i don't want to take ativan every night for fear of addiction.

Valerian: I can think of no harmful effects from the conbination.

Yes: No interactions. Not sure if valerian will help with your anxiety, but Ativan (lorazepam) is not a long term solution. There are other possibilities that you should discuss with your doc.

MEDICATION: Best to discuss medication with your Psychiatrist. If uncomfortable with your Dr. consult another for a second opinion. Have a physical exam by a Dr. to determine if you have a physical illness. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy with ZOOM sessions. Yes: Valerian is an herbal preparation used to help with sleep. It is quite safe. I see no problem taking it along with Zoloft.
