Usually GI Tract: Depends which drugs for treating cholesterol problems, which is done to prevent heart disease mainly. Some that bind cholesterol can cause nausea and stool changes including diaarhea, or even oily stools. The statins, the most commonly prescribed can cause changes in liver enzymes, and can cause inflammation of the muscles (myopathy) in some people.
