AIDS is last stage: You would get a positive test. Aids is usually a last stage of the infection with hiv. It is often not seen for a decade after infection and would always have a positive test if one tested this late into an infection.

Hiv/aids: Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or aids, is the later stage of hiv. Thus, you would need to have acquired the HIV virus for some time (usually years) to start to show the signs of aids, which may be diseases such as tuberculosis, kaposi's sacroma, cytomegalovirus, and others. You would need to have a positive HIV test to have aids. Please see your primary care provider, and use protection.
