Paxil (paroxetine) long acting: 12.5mg is a long acting so takes some hours before it works. Id starting that pill, takes a few weeks to start to improve your condition. It does not make anyone sleep directly but improves sleep quality with time. It is not supposed to make you drowsy.

3 weeks: Paxil (paroxetine) and other antidepressants slowly readjust brain chemistry. They therefore take 3-6 weeks to work properly, though some people respond sooner (1 wk). Speak to your doctor about other temporary measures until it kicks in.

When you first start taking Paxil (paroxetine) you will either feel drowsy or restless. But, can you feel drowsy one day and then restless the next?
