A member asked:

Can i have folic acid capsules twice a day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Most pregnant women do not need more than 1, 000 mcg of Folic Acid daily ( in a supplement form). You do not need to monitor your dietary Folic Acid intake. In some cases, such as twin pregnancy or a previous birth of a baby with a neural tube defect, doses up to 4, 000 mcg are recommended. I do not advise you take the higher dosage unless instructed to by your provider.
