See your doctor: Most couples with normal fertility will conceive within a year. Your gynecologist can order some simple tests to help you determine what to try next. At a minimum a semen analysis, home ovulation testing and an x-ray to see if your tubes are open would be a good start.

Evaluation: It is usually recommended that couples (women under 35yrs) attempt pregnancy for a year before an evaluation, but there are some exceptions (irregular menses, history of pelvic infections, scarring, testicular cancer, known fertility issues). If you have tried for 6months to a year, it is reasonable to discuss this with your doctor and consider the timing of an evaluation.
