Smell: The smell is probably from food and debris trapped inside the cavity. However, it may also be coming from an infection of either the tooth or the gum tissue. See your dentist asap to determine the cause and prevent additional problems.

Bacterial: Bacterial byproducts (acid) create the cavity gases are also a byproduct and that is the source of the odor remove plaque daily by brushing and flossing to prevent cavities and gum disease.
