Nail pitting: Two most common reasons for nail pitting, small indentations on finger and toe nails are nail psoriasis and alopecia areata. Sometimes these two disorders just affect the nail, sometimes other parts of skin and hair. These are usually not treated unless extensive primarily because treatments involve either shots into nails or systemic medication. No dietary changes or vitamins really help.
