Tough Q: Difficult to diagnose or rule out DVT without an ultrasound.

Worsening symptoms: A DVT is usually associated with significant increase in swelling and pain of the extremity. There are the occasional dvts that do not tend to cause many symptoms but these are rare. If one leg swells more than the other, or has pain that prevents you from normal activities, get it checked out. Cramps go away, dvts don't.
