Do NOT play until : You seek a neurologist's consultation and clearance. Concussions in athletics are more and more common, but are usually undertreated. A concussion is a bruising of the brain tissue and should be treated as a medical emergency especially if you lost consciousness! seek a neurology consultation before doing anything!

Concussion symptoms: Can vary very widely despite the severity of impact. Any concussion that includes a loss of consciousness requires a closer evaluation and probably a more indepth work up. If you are symptom free and have been cleared by your physician it is permissible to attempt a graded return to play over the course of a week or so.
