Not So Simple: Please return to see your original surgeon or find one very experienced in this surgery--the "second time around" can be much more difficult than the first operation. You may require pretty extensive pre-op testing (24-hr ph, manometry, barium swallow, ct) to plan out the operation & decide how best to fix the problem. Good luck.

Re-do Nissen: Revision fundoplication is more involved than the primary operation. The reason for revision needs to be identified. Recurrent reflux and difficulty swallowing are common reasons. Preop testing should include endoscopy, barium swallow, and possibly ph probe, manometry and gastric emptying studies. I do not recommend simply reversing as it will result in severe reflux symptoms in most cases.
