No and yes: Ultram is not an antidepressant. Mechanism of action however, is similar to some of them. This may even cause a potential interaction that would prevent some drs from treating you with ssri s. But any med that really help you alleviate symptoms may indirectly help you get less depressed. Its use in your particular case should be discussed with your dr.
