A member asked:

Are preservatives bad for health?why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on amount...: There are many types of preservatives. Preservatives preserve food so that we have food to eat during those times of the year that crops are not ready. By preserving food, we also can live in or travel to places in the world where fresh food is not readily available. Some preservatives are toxic to our bodies if we get too much of them, for a variety of reasons.
