? Gap between muscle: Description suggests a separation between upper ends of your rectus abdomens muscles. No problem unless it is bothering you.

Hernia: That sounds like it may be a hernia - in that area possibly a hiatal hernia. You need to see your doctor for treatment options. Even with no symptoms now, if left untreated it can lead to problems down the road.
