A member asked:

What could be causing constant discomfort in my upper abdomen just below my sternum? the mild pain is felt in my upper back as well.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Couple of things: This symptom could be related to esophagitis/gastritis/ulcer (is it worse after eating/swallowing or not?), or possibly pancreatitis (is it relieved by slouching forward, or made worse by drinking alcohol?). If it persists, you should consult dr and get upper GI and/or lab work for pancreatitis.
