Hypoglycemia: Eating too many carbohydrates and not enough protein & fat at bedtime may result in elevated blood sugar, which causes Insulin to rise. The patient may awake a few hours later with hypoglycemia. I suggest a small snack of protein & fat at bedtime, like nuts, seeds, hummus, cottage cheese to prevent your nighttime awakening. I also suggest no high glycemic carbs (ice cream, popcorn) before bed.
