Depends type of cyst: Every month, normally, a woman who is not on any hormones will develop an ovarian cyst (2-4 cm) from which she releases an egg - left ovary one month, the right ovary the next month. These resolve on their own. There are other cysts (endometrioma, cystadenoma, etc) which may not resolve on their own and can only be resolved with cyst excision (surgical). Worth seeing agyn to sort out which type.
