Not GERD: The symptoms you describe are much more common in people with constipation or diverticulosis. I would try a stool softener every day or increase the fiber in the diet to see if that helps. Gerd related symptoms are usually heartburn, sour taste in your throat, pain behind you sternum or respiratory symptoms like cough or wheezing.

Cure Constipation: Constipation can cause many problems. Treat with plenty of water, and high-fiber diet. Metamucil (psyllium husks), seeds, and high-fiber vegetables like carrots and celery. Increase activity of your colon with mild stimulants like prunes (may require several handsfull). Stay regular (i.e., at least one easy bowel movement per day). Magnesium (1, 000-2, 000 mg per day may also help).
