Blood may be from...: Blood on toilet paper can be from hemorrhoids with or without constipation. Depending on the age of the patient, the doctor might also worry about polyps or colon cancer. Certain infectious "dysentery" diarrhea illnesses have bloody stools. If a constipated person drank a whole lot of apple juice, then his bowels upstream might strongly contract to push out the hard poop downstream. Ouch. Ouch.

Agree with Dr.K: Even if it is just hemorrhoids, you should see a doctor and get treated to prevent anemia from blood loss and to rule out bleeding from other sources.
