Essential tremor: Tremor of hands can be physiologic, meaning a normal body reaction, to stress, anxiety, exhaustion, or caffeine. Alcohol withdrawal can do that. There are medical conditions that can cause tremor, including essential tremor, hyperthyroidism, or various neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Rhythmic shaking while holding utensils are likely essential tremor.
