i have had 2 abnormal pap smears in the past 6 months. i also have lupus. could this be serious?

What is abnormal ? : Your gynecologist has to decide what is the next step depending the result of your pap smear . If you also have lupus , it should not change the decisions or the prognosis of the pap smear results.

Lupus: Lupus patients are more prone to having abnormal pap smears. Keep regular followup with gyn to stay on top of this.

May need repeat pap: Sometimes during an infection, a pap smear may show abnormal atypical cell, you may need to repeat the pap smear after infection is over.
