A member asked:

I had two abnormal pap smear, what does that mean and what could be the cause of my test being abnormal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Abnormal" pap: The pap smear's "abnormal" status could be everything form a cervical infection from the human papilloma virus(HPV) to actual cervical cancer. Your MD needs to look at the area with a microscope on wheels (Colposcope) and take tissue samples to be certain as to what the cause is or not.
