A member asked:

Had hysterectomy in 07 for endometreosis in uterus & abd. cavity. is it possible that some is still there? problems every month w/ bloating & pms sym.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: After a hysterectomy for endometriosis, it is possible that some ovarian tissue remains. Even if both ovaries were technically removed, it only takes a small amount of ovarian tissue to produce hormones. Those hormones can cause significant pain, pms, bloating, etc. On a monthly cycle, and can keep some endometriosis being active. See your gynecologist: medication or further surgery can help.
