Yes: Ms medications reduce the chances of new relapses including new spots on MRI but they do not completely eliminate that possibility. There is a chance that spinal lesions will appear in the future even with meds but the meds will make that possibility much less. Hope this helps.

Depends on Rx: Disease modifying agents in MS are designed to control relapses, MRI lesions, and prevent ultimate disability. A potent medication such as Tysabri (natalizumab) or Gilenya would provide better assurance of less lesions over both brain and spinal cord. Also, add vitamin D-3 supplements.
