Evaluation 1st: Before thinking about meds to tell your doctor about, you need a thorough evaluation of your insomnia. Many factors can cause this, and treatment could be different accordingly. You may need better sleep hygiene, a careful review of medications or other drugs/alcohol you might be using, or a formal sleep study. Please let your doctor use his/her training to guide you.

INSOMNIA: Getting a good night's sleep is very important for physical and mental health. Insomnia might be due to several different reasons. First have a complete physical exam by a Dr. to rule out an underlying biological problem. If no problem consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy that helps you change and benefit from medication prescribed by a Psychiatrist. You may need a sleep study.
