Ask your ENT: The ENT specialist that removed it can give you the best answer. Lesions that are removed are usually sent out for a biopsy and if that was the case, you can request a copy and the exact diagnosis.

Probable papilloma: Squamous papillomas are common on the uvula and soft palate. They are flesh colored with a rough surface and often are attached by a narrow stalk. Rarely malignant as they are associated with low risk hpv virus types. Not aware these have anything to do with smoking or alcohol intake, or oral sex. Hopefully it was sent for pathology review if there was concern about what it is.
