Good Shoes: Wear the good shoes instead of the sandals. They are unlikely to give you adequate support.

Look elsewhere: I haven't heard of support sandals actually improving pf. Orthotics are good, but what's been proven to work is ice to the bottoms of your feet, certain stretches to ease the tension in your pf, tension night splints (also sold as the strousburg sock in running magazines), weight loss, and in some rare cases, I use a steroid injection as a last resort.

Custom sandals: Talk to your doctor that is making your orthotics about ordering a custom sandal that your orthotics will fit into.
