Diagnosed with graves. on l-thyroxine, but still have all symptoms. main symptom is heart palpitations. what could this be? see med notes, please.

Check med: If you have graves' disease, you shouldn't be on l-thyroxine. That would be the wrong med for you unless you had surgery for the graves' or radioactive iodine ablation already. If you truly have graves and is on l-thyroxine, that would cause heart palpitations.

Go follow up with: Your primary dr and endocrinologist. Your symptoms could be from the residual effect of your graves' disease and/or side effect of your thyroid hormone. Have an ekg to be sure you don't have irregular heart beat asap. The dose needs to be adjusted based on your tsh. Hope you feel better!
