Chylothorax: The lymphatic system is a low pressure system, so usually staying on tpn, and/or a fat restricted diet supplemented by medium chain fatty acids cures the problem in 50% of cases. It may take weeks or even months to heal. He may also need his chest drained periodically. Surgery is a last option because it is difficult to find and clip the lympatics.
