Botox & Swelling: It is rare to have significant swelling after a Botox inj, but there are a few things to consider. 1) many people have localized swelling after any injection-cool compresses & time may help; 2) rarely in patients w/ very sensitive skin i rec pre-treatment with an antihistamine; 3) allergic reactions are exceedingly rare with Botox but not impossible; 4) the lid area can be quite sensitive in some.

Botox Swelling: Swelling under the eyes after Botox or Dysport is not uncommon as the tissues are delicate and take on fluid easily. It is a temporary situation. If this is a problem for you have the injector only inject the crowsfeet at the side of the eyes in the future.

Sensitivity: Sensitivity to any product is possible and could cause swelling. The under eye area is particularly sensitive and can swell more easily. Ask your doctor to use a smaller amount of a more concentrated solution and to use a very fine needle to minimize the sensitivity to the dilutent and trauma from the needle.

Muscle laxity: If the swelling is prolonged it may be that the Botox was placed near the lower lid muscle that holds the fat in position. You may be seeing fat bulging rather than swelling. Best to check with the person who did the injections.
