A member asked:

As a vegan, how much vitamin b-12 do i need to take and what we will happen to me if i don't get enough?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Get plenty of it: If you have become a vegan out of concern for factory-farmed animals, you have my admiration and congratulations. You also need to know that the health benefits are massively exaggerated by many of its proponents. If you spend even a short time b12-deficient, you will get permanent brain and spinal cord damage. Your personal physician can guide you in selecting the optimal dose; you can't overdose.
