Brain less likely: A clot in a leg vein can travel up the bloodstream toward the heart. After a clot travels through the chambers of the heart, it enters the pulmonary circulation where the vessels are tiny, and easily blocked. A clot won't travel from the leg to the brain unless a person has a "patent foramen ovale" - an opening connecting the upper chambers of the heart. Lgromkomd.
