A member asked:

Patient coming out of coma from ruptured avm is 'posturing', but also responding to pain/cold (makes faces) and has eyes focused. is this abnormal?

It may be expected: Recovery may take a long time. Only time will tell if what you describe is a good sign of recovery or an automatic nervous system response.

Yes: The responses that you report are abnormal. The real question is the extent of damage that has been caused by the rupture. The location of the blood and if any surgery were done to relieve the pressure also has a big impact upon the outcome. The sooner the patient wakes up and responds, the better the long-term outcome.
