Scan: Do you mean you had an MRI scan? Some people will have a ct scan, which is still not terribly sensitive in picking up causes for back pain like an MRI is. If you have had a normal MRI of the area of the spine that is hurting, we start thinking of pain generators outside the musculoskeletal skeletal system like a kidney stone, aneurysm or an infection.
