Metabolic or drugs: Other common causes of seizure include: 1. Severe electrolyte imbalance 2. Organ failure e.g. Kidney/liver etc 3. Medication side effects 4. Brain damage from stroke/bleeding/tumor/lack of oxygen.

Many causes: Anybody can have a seizure if their body is sufficiently stressed. Everyone has a different threshold for having a seizure and when that is reached, seizure occurs. It could be anything from sleep deprivation to emotional stress to heavy physical activity etc. Usually these are called provoked seizures. If one has two or more unprovoked seizure then it is called epilepsy.
