A member asked:

When there is no apparent cause for a person's epilepsy, have the person in fact had epilepsy (without seizures..) their whole life but the seizures just chose to show up later? and why do they appear out of nowhere?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There is always an electrochemical trigger for epileptic events, but often difficult to uncover unless specialized studies are conducted. A neurologist can assess your episodes and likely provide successful anti-epileptic interventions.
