Ask last doctor(s): State laws require that the information in medical records be kept for a certain number of years (contact the state medical board to find that information). One can contact each doctor and each clinic or hospital he went to in the past, to see if any records information is available. Meanwhile, one should write his medical history from his own memory, the best that he can do, for the next doctor.
