What does preliminary report mean at the bottom of a medical report?

Preliminary.: Means that the test has not been completely confirmed or that further results may be expected. This often happens when complete confirmation may require a delay or re-evaluation or review at a higher level. Sometimes the "final" report may differ substantially from the preliminary report but not very commonly.
