Will blood pressure medicines lead to diabetes?

Blood pressure: Some BP meds like hydrochlorothiazide can raise your blood sugar and if you are borderline diabetic, it can potentially make you a full blown diabetic. This is just for this class of medication. Other BP meds doesn't do this.

BP Rx and DM: Diabetes increases as well all age. So the issue is did DM emerge because you get older only or because you were taking BP meds and got older. Indeed one of the best reasons to take BP meds is to get older rather than dying early. The most likely meds to do this are diuretics. Because they can lower K and this impairs insulin release and looks like DM.
