Inflammation: Inflammatory bowel disease like crohns (or more often ulcerative colitis) are considered autoimmune diseases. Both can be associated with inflammatory conditions of the liver that can cause scarring. Primary sclerosing cholangitis is more commonly seen in patients with uc.
