Hydration, mucolytic: First make sure your asthma is under controlled. Inflammation of your lungs can cause significant mucus buildup. If you have increase mucus because you have upper airway drainage then try saline rinse and Mucinex (guaifenesin) to help thin out the mucus, remember also to stay hydrated. . It is important to see an asthma specialist to determine your triggers and how best to manage your asthma.
