A member asked:

How can a doctor tell for which strain of flu they need to vaccinate each year?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Educated guess!: Every year in early spring, a group of experts from all over the world gather and together come to agreement on which strains are most likely for that particular year based on what had gone on previous years, weather conditions around the world, what they are seeing in certain parts of the world. They take all that info and together decide which 3-4 strains will go in for that flu season.
