Get a flu shot: Your child should be immunized against the flu. If you child is one year old she should have two flu shots given one month apart. Barring that you should wash your hands with soap and water before handling your child. Recent recommendations have lowered the age for giving tamiflu, (oseltamivir) so it's an open question if you want to give it prophylactic ally.
