My 2 year old has had congestion and a fever for 4 days. two doctors visitors and strep and flu tests were negative. what can we give him?

Follow your doc's..: advice.For viral illnesses there is very little that we can do besides "supportive care".Make sure that they are staying hydrated. Saline nasal spray to aide in thinning nasal secretions,treat fever as needed.The congestion will last 10 -14 days the cough somewhat longer (although progressively getting better).If your child is still having fever after the 5th day (greater than 100.4)go back to doc

Agree. Great nose cleaning (gets harder as kids get older, I know) with saline, tylenol/ibuprofen for pain or fever, and time! OTC 'cold medicines' cause more problems and are not recc for 2 year olds.
