Speech : Babies develop speech in a fairly predictable manner. Most start with ooh and aah sounds by 2-3 months, progress to babbles and squeals by 6- 8 months, then more imitation and consonant combinations by 10-12 months. Many 12 mo olds have a few "real" words. As toddlers, they will start to comprehend a lot of words and use single words with meaning.
