See below: The layers are as follow: skin, subcutaneous fat, muscle, peritoneum, hollow organs and viscus (intestines) peritoneum, uterine muscles, placenta and then amniotic fluid. I may have left of a couple but that is pretty close. These layers provide "protection" to the baby from outside trauma.
