Fiber and Stanols: 1. Plant stanol margarine (take control / benechol) can lower bad cholesterol by 15%. 2. Soluble fiber products that contain psyllium (metamucil; 2-3 servings/day) can lower cholesterol by 10%. 3. Some soy products like tofu and soy nuts and milk may slightly lower cholesterol. 4. Replace saturated and trans fat (animal/ dairy/processed food) with unsaturated vegetable fat. 5. Cut back on salt.
