Physician check: Without the whole story it is difficult to say what exactly is going on. But a painful, red, and swollen foot should definitely be checked by a physician.

Many things: Many things can cause redness, pain and swelling of the foot. Injuries, problems with circulation, infections... The list goes on. I recommend seeing a foot specialist as soon as possible.
